Honda Accord 2.0i Vtec SE Executive

With the BMW needing a bit more than the odd weekend job, I was on the lookout for another daily. I also wanted to try an automatic as my commute involved a lot of traffic. Not many cars fall into 'cheap, reliable, well specced, automatic and not a V6 or V8' category but this Honda appeared with a fantastic service history, low number of owners and very affordable. It needed a few jobs but was overall was a very good buy.

Although a pretty minor thing, something annoyed me all the way home from buying it were the rusty windscreen wipers, so that was the first job. Then came some general tidying by polishing the headlights, touching up the centre caps, fixing the scuffed drivers seat bolster and replacing the broken aerial.

The slightly bigger job was a knock coming from the rear which turned out to be the bumper support bar rusting clean off its mounts and bouncing around in the bumper. I therefore made some new mounts and welded it back together.

This was probably one of the 'executive' (get it?) cars I'd ever owned so it took a few months to get bored of the automatic. By that time, a friend was looking for new car and liked the Honda, so a deal was done and I was on the lookout again. These are the pictures I took just before it was collected.
